Hi! My name is Kelley and I am excited to be the December blogger of the month! I chose to blog this month about Tour of Trees for a few reasons. The main reason being is that my husband and I bought our dream home last year which happened to be a former Christmas Tree Farm! The couple that sold us the house sold the land with the trees so we do not operate the farm, the new owner of that piece of land does. Plus, with a newborn, there wouldn’t have been a way for us to possibly do that.
My blog, From Kansas With Love is about my life adventures in Western Kansas including family, food, photos and much more!
My life has become more exciting since moving to Kansas. I was born in Maryland and moved to Oklahoma when I was 8. I grew up there but moved once to California for a short period of time. I moved to Kansas after falling in love with my husband. Before moving here, we would drive 6.5 hours one way to see each other on the weekends. I loved coming to Kansas because I loved the atmosphere and the people here. I wasn’t used to people waving at you on the road while you were driving. Driving around in the country also helped my love of taking photographs grow.
Now my husband and I, along with our infant son, live just west of Hays, Kansas in our dream home with a neat old red barn that we dream of sprucing up one of these days. Luckily, my husband is a hard worker and I get to stay home to raise our son. It is the hardest but best job I’ve ever had. The only negative thing about living here though is missing my family. My siblings still live in Oklahoma and my parents, in Texas. We get to see each other every once in a while and I am grateful for that!
I look forward to blogging with Kansas Women Bloggers to meet great local bloggers, learn more about this great state and be able to share my unique experiences with others. Thanks for having me!
